Anj is an empty-nester with 3 children who attended Country Day School, The Potomac School, The Madeira School, Avon Old Farms, and currently SMU in Dallas, Texas, with one graduate and two current undergraduate students. Anj herself attended Country Day School, Cooper Intermediate, Langley High School, and Ohio University.

In her spare time, Anj is a fine artist specializing in landscapes in oil. In addition, Anj enjoys hiking, swimming, cooking, travel, and time with friends and family.
